Remnant from the ashes ps411/7/2023 ![]() Wait, would capping the framerate at 30 be different than what the PS4 version does, such that I need to do something to compensate to make it run as smoothly as it did on PS4? 30 FPS by itself doesn't bother me, as primarily a console gamer I'm used to it, but I don't want it to feel choppier than the PS4 version. As I said in my original post, it is obvious the PS4 version has at least Medium or higher set for Shadows and for Post-processing (whatever that entails). What kinds of things could I do to have it feel smoother while still running at 30 FPS?Īs for all-caps guy that posted earlier - I tried all Low settings and it clearly looked much different than the PS4 version, so your opinion on the relative power of consoles is not accurate in this case. Just don't forget to use whatever you can to smooth the framerate, since a 30 FPS cap by itself will just make everything choppy. Originally posted by Sterling:I imagined they used the highest settings, since the 30 FPS cap makes it a lot easier to put higher settings on. Not even sure if the PS4 version runs at true 1080p or is upscaled. ![]() No idea about view distance and shadow distance and some of the other settings though. It appears to use at least Medium quality shadows and Medium post-processing, from switching back and forth between them and comparing. Pretty sure the PS4 only runs at 30 FPS, so I can lock the framerate to that, and I'm betting it has VSync turned on. So, what video settings does the PS4 version of Remnant use? I'm assuming only the devs know but thought I'd ask anyway. I know for most people it would make sense to just make the PC version look as good as it can on my hardware, but I have visual acuity problems and it takes a while to train myself to spot enemies and such properly in a new game, so having both versions look exactly the same would be helpful to me even if it means it looks worse on my PC than it needs to. In order to not throw myself off when switching back and forth between the two versions of the game, I'd like to set my PC copy to look and feel as close as possible to my (non-Pro) PS4 copy, and I'll be playing using my PS4 controller as well. My PC is pretty weak though, probably only slightly better than a PS4.
